Bills wide receiver DJ Moore ruled out with shoulder injury, expected to return Week 3
Buffalo placed DJ Moore on the injury list after a shoulder issue in the second quarter against Detroit, but reports say the injury is not serious and he could be back for the next game.
Buffalo announced that wide receiver DJ Moore was taken to the locker room for X-rays after sustaining a shoulder injury while attempting a pass in the first half of Thursday's game against the Detroit Lions. The Bills ruled him out for the remainder of the contest, which ended with Buffalo leading 27-10 at halftime.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter said the injury is not considered serious and that Moore has a chance to return for Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Moore, acquired from the Chicago Bears in a trade during the offseason, has posted four 1,000-yard receiving seasons and was expected to add veteran leadership to a receiving group that recorded only one 500-yard receiver last season.
Moore recorded five catches for 100 yards and a touchdown in the season opener against the Houston Texans. His absence creates an opportunity for other Bills pass-catchers, including Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer and Keon Coleman, to see increased fantasy relevance. Tight end Dalton Kincaid, who posted five receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown in the first half against Detroit, may also see a larger role while Moore is sidelined.
