Kim Kardashian Reveals Diagnosis of Oesophagitis in New Season Trailer
Kim Kardashian disclosed that she has been diagnosed with oesophagitis, a condition linked to acid reflux, while promoting the eighth season of her reality series.
Kim Kardashian confirmed she is dealing with oesophagitis, a swelling and irritation of the esophagus, in a trailer for the eighth season of her reality show. The clip shows her lying in a hospital bed and describing the condition as "something called oesophagitis." Oesophagitis is commonly caused by acid reflux and is diagnosed through procedures such as endoscopy, according to medical sources.
The star's father, Robert Kardashian, died of esophageal cancer in 2003. Since then, the Kardashian family has been involved in related health initiatives, including the opening of the UCLA Robert G. Kardashian Centre for Oesophageal Health in 2019. Kim noted at the centre's fifth anniversary that friends she has referred there have benefited from its services.
"I have friends that I have referred to the Robert G. Kardashian Centre, and it has saved their lives," she said. "It makes me proud to hear them be so grateful that they found a place that was dedicated to the one thing that would help them."
