Seven women linked to ongoing Olney homicide investigation
Police have identified seven women connected to the investigation of Eugene Horsch's Olney home, but no bodies have been recovered and charges related to the disappearances remain pending.
Philadelphia police have linked seven women to the investigation surrounding 44-year-old Eugene Horsch, his late father Raymond Horsch and their residence on West Chew Avenue in the Olney neighborhood. The women include Blair Tonzelli, who vanished in 2023; Amy McHale, last seen in 2016 and formerly married to Raymond Horsch; Gabrielle Amarando, missing since 2012; Maribel Fresses, missing since 2018; a 25-year-old woman seen injured in recovered images; an unidentified "Jane Doe" also appearing injured; and an additional woman whose identity has not been disclosed.
Police say a woman present at the time of Horsch's June arrest possessed an ID bearing Tonzelli's name, which she allegedly gave to officers. Investigators have recovered more than one million photos and videos from the home, some showing the women alive and later appearing deceased. Philadelphia Police Inspector Ray Evers stated that, if the images are authentic, a medical examiner would consider the individuals depicted as deceased.
No remains have been found, and none of the women have been officially declared dead. Former FBI agent JJ Klaver noted that the lack of bodies makes forensic identification difficult. Authorities have seized over 20 containers of an unknown substance, chemicals, drugs, firearms, and a 55-gallon drum from a makeshift basement laboratory, sending the items to a federal lab in Chicago for analysis. Five urns believed to contain cremated remains were also discovered, though their owners have not been identified.
Sources told Action News that video evidence allegedly shows Raymond Horsch strangling an unnamed woman. The FBI has increased its presence to authenticate the extensive digital evidence. Eugene Horsch remains in federal custody on firearms and false credential charges, while his father died in 2025.
The investigation began after a park ranger observed a suspicious vehicle near Independence Mall on June 19, leading to the identification of the ID linked to Tonzelli. Since then, police have executed nearly 100 search warrants at the Chew Avenue property and continue to review the massive cache of images and videos, interviewing individuals who appear in the material. Detectives are urging anyone with information about the house or the missing women to contact the Philadelphia Police Department tip line.
