Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers listed as day-to-day after hamstring injury

Summary

Ravens rookie wideout Zay Flowers missed practice due to a hamstring strain and is classified as day-to-day, leaving his availability for the upcoming Week 2 game against the New Orleans Saints uncertain.

The Baltimore Ravens confirmed that rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers did not participate in Wednesday's practice after aggravating a hamstring strain. The team plans to conduct an MRI to determine the injury’s severity. Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Flowers is currently considered day-to-day, meaning he could still be available for the Week 2 matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Flowers had a strong performance in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, recording five receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown before leaving the contest. The Ravens led 31-13 at halftime, largely thanks to his production.

If Flowers is unable to play, the Ravens may rely on fellow receivers Rashod Bateman and Ja’Kobi Lane, with Bateman expected to see increased targets. Rookie Elijah Sarratt is also projected to be active for the Saints game.

The team’s medical staff will update his status after the MRI, and the Ravens will assess his readiness for the upcoming contest.
