Colts receiver Keenan Allen charged with two misdemeanors after DUI arrest
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen has been formally charged with two misdemeanors stemming from an August DUI arrest, facing potential team and league discipline.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was formally charged on Tuesday with two misdemeanors linked to an August arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. The charges include operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent (ACE) of 0.15 or higher, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, which carries a maximum 60-day jail term and a fine of up to $500.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard said any disciplinary action by the team would be handled internally. Allen also faces possible league discipline, which typically results in a three-game suspension for alcohol-related offenses. The collective bargaining agreement allows for enhanced penalties given the high ACE level, according to a report from the Indianapolis Star.
Allen participated in the Colts' recent loss to the Baltimore Ravens, recording six receptions for 32 yards.
