Eagles place Landon Dickerson on IR, add Britain Covey and Josiah Deguara to roster

Summary

Philadelphia moved left guard Landon Dickerson to injured reserve, promoted wide receiver Britain Covey from the practice squad, and signed tight end Josiah Deguara to the practice squad.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced three roster moves on Tuesday. Left guard Landon Dickerson was placed on injured reserve, making him ineligible for the next four games and eligible to return at the earliest in Week 6. The team also promoted wide receiver Britain Covey from the practice squad to the active roster and signed tight end Josiah Deguara to the practice squad.

Dickerson, a three-time Pro Bowler, said he was a "complete liability" in the season-opening win over Washington and that an injury sustained in training camp led to the IR designation. Head coach Nick Sirianni told SportsRadio 94 WIP that the Eagles will be without Dickerson "for the foreseeable future."

Covey, who previously served as the Eagles’ punt returner in Week 1, was elevated to the active roster after a brief stint on the practice squad. His addition brings the team’s wide-receiver count to seven.

The 29-year-old Deguara, a former third-round pick of the Green Bay Packers, has appeared in 77 games with 12 starts. After a short tenure with the New York Giants, he joins the Eagles’ practice squad, providing depth at tight end following Eli Stowers’ placement on injured reserve.
