Arch Manning jokes about AI-altered video of Texas coach’s brief interview with ESPN reporter

Summary

Texas quarterback Arch Manning referenced an AI-edited clip that showed coach Steve Sarkisian slapping ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe, while noting the actual interview lasted only seconds after Texas beat Ohio State.

Texas quarterback Arch Manning said on Monday that he had seen several AI-edited videos circulating online, including one that depicted coach Steve Sarkisian slapping ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe after the Longhorns’ 24-23 win over Ohio State. "I’ve seen a few AI edits, that’s about it. I saw an AI edit of Sark’s interview," Manning said, prompting laughter from reporters.

The actual exchange between Sarkisian and Rowe lasted less than five seconds. As the team celebrated, Rowe attempted to start a post-game interview, but Sarkisian interrupted, shouting "Let’s go, Texas fight! Let’s go, Texas fight!" before adding "Hook ‘Em!" and walking away.

Earlier in the game, a halftime interview with Sarkisian was disrupted by technical issues, according to ESPN’s Laura Rutledge, who later clarified that Sarkisian had declined the interview at halftime after waiting patiently for a resolution.

A Texas spokesperson attributed the post-game incident in part to recurring technical difficulties on the field. The matter was not addressed during Sarkisian’s regular Monday news conference, which preceded Manning’s remarks. Neither Texas nor ESPN provided comments when contacted later on Monday.
