Kenneth Walker makes strong debut for Chiefs in 31-10 win over Broncos
Running back Kenneth Walker recorded 191 yards and two touchdowns in his first game with Kansas City, helping the Chiefs defeat Denver 31-10.
Kansas City running back Kenneth Walker logged 26 touches for 191 yards and two scores as the Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos 31-10 on Monday night. After a cornerback interception ended Denver's opening drive, head coach Andy Reid called a series of runs for Walker, including a fourth-down conversion and a 60-yard rush early in the third quarter. Patrick Mahomes capped the opening drive with a touchdown run.
"It means a lot. It means they trust me," Walker said after the game.
Reid praised Walker's performance, noting the unpredictable nature of play-calling and the need to gain yards. He highlighted the running back's impact on the game.
"You never know, going in, how many times you're going to give him the ball. That's not a calculated thing, you gotta be making yards. For him to play the way he did, I thought it was spectacular. It was something you hope for, and you got to see it, where he was the main guy. Did a great job with it."
Walker, who previously played for the Seattle Seahawks and was the MVP of Super Bowl LX, delivered a notable performance in his first appearance with Kansas City.
