Eagles place starting left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve

Summary

Philadelphia placed guard Landon Dickerson on IR after a knee injury limited his play in the season opener, sidelining him for at least four weeks.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that starting left guard Landon Dickerson has been placed on injured reserve because of a knee injury. The move follows a bone bruise in his right knee that worsened after he was hit during a training-camp practice and then attempted to play in the Week 1 loss to Washington.

Dickerson told 94WIP that the team’s plan was to move him to IR so he could recover fully and avoid the “limping” situation he experienced last season. He said he expects to be healthy enough to return after the mandatory four-game absence.

Head coach Nick Sirianni said Dickerson’s size and power remain valuable, noting a strong block on a Washington defensive tackle that helped set up a long run by Saquon Barkley. However, Sirianni also acknowledged the guard’s struggles in pass protection and run blocking during the opening game.

The Eagles expect backup Drew Kendall to start at left guard in the upcoming Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. General manager Howie Roseman expressed confidence in the depth of the interior line, citing the development of Kendall, Willie Lampkin and Micah Morris during camp.

Dickerson, 27, missed the 2025 season’s final weeks after meniscus surgery and has a history of injuries dating back to his college career. He and teammate Cam Jurgens reportedly pursued stem-cell treatments in the offseason to aid recovery.
