FactsLane 1.7: the Audio hub

FactsLane 1.7 is an audio release. If you would rather listen than read, everything is now in one place.

What's new

  • The Audio hub. Digests and podcasts live together. Open it and see what is fresh, pick a show, and start listening.
  • A queue. Line up several episodes and let them play one after another.
  • Autoplay. When an episode ends, the next one starts without you touching the phone.
  • Playback speed. Slow it down or speed it up to suit the way you listen.
  • New digest covers. Each day's digest gets a single illustration that pulls the main events of the day into one scene, replacing a photo from the first story.
  • A hint in an empty For You. If your For You feed is empty because of your settings, the app now says why and offers a way out: choose some topics, or loosen the strictness.

Why it matters

Listening is how many people catch up while walking, cooking or traveling. It only works if you do not have to keep picking the next thing. A queue, autoplay and speed control mean you start once and listen as long as you like.

How to try it

Update FactsLane on iOS or Android and open the Audio tab. The hub shows digests and the weekly shows together. Speed and the queue are in the player. For the hint in For You, open the feed with your topics selected.

Car listening arrived in the same release. See our post on CarPlay and Android Auto.
